When John was 11 years old, he came to America on a sailing ship with his parents & 5 siblings.
John fought in the Union Army during the Civil War.
Minnie was the only child they had together who lived to adulthood.  Two other children died in infancy.
Plus, John and Cornelia both had other children by previous marriages.
Minnie had 2 half-sisters and 3 half-brothers who lived to adulthood.  3 additional children died in infancy.
2 of Minnie's half-brothers had severe disabilities, and the 3rd was deaf due to childhood illness.

These cousins played together till Gerald & Aubrey moved to Oklahoma.
After that, they continued to see each other some summers.
