Vesta and Walter were born after this photo was taken.

Two additional children, Hattie (1870) and Frank (1886),  died in infancy.
Homer died as a result of of diphtheria and a fractured skull in 1897, at age 14 years

Is that just because of shadows, or was this photo widened a little, or was the top photo narrowed a tiny bit?

MissingED passed away in 1938.  Ed's wife, Minnie, passed away in Aug. 1946, weeks before the reunion.  HOMER passed away in 1897 at age 14 years.   HATTIE & FRANK died as infants.


Gay Whited's grandparents: Cecil Brodie German is left end of back row, next to the man.  Harold D German is back row far right.  Harold & Cecil's daughter, Alice (who passed away in a car accident in 1951) is on the second row of women, 2nd from right.  

Doug German's grandparents: The first woman standing on the left is my grandmother, Ellen Shull German. Her husband Kenneth, my grandfather, is the 2nd man from the right in the front row of men.

Ellen (wife of Kenneth, who Chet's son) knew everyone needed to be identified.
So she placed numbers on each face (below) and  then listed the name of each person beside each number (below).

Also buried at Walnut Creek Cemetery are an unnamed infant child of Otis H. & Myrtle German, and an unnamed infant child of Chet German and his first wife Mabel.
